If my biography had a soundtrack, it would sing, ”He loves me, he loves me not,” repeatedly in Italian, Marguerite’s query to a daisy concerning the intentions of her diabolically driven suitor Faust. I performed this duet scene onscreen in Martin Scorsese’s film, “Age of Innocence.”

That was from the opera singer chapter of my life. Alongside singing, I have always been interested in alternative medicine. This combined with my daughter’s lively entrepreneurial spirit and her business venture into a health food store informed my decision to attend Vancouver Homeopathy Academy in 2003. Upon graduation in May 2007, Xerion Health Food became Xerion Apothecary Ltd., a homeopathic clinic, now renamed Xerion Homoeopathie Ltd. I completed requirements for the Council for Homeopathic Certification in October 2007 (#462) and subsequently became a professional member of the Canadian Society of Homeopaths and the North American Society of Homeopaths. I continue my homeopathic education by attending workshops given by world-renowned homeopaths and will learn Dr. Rajan Sankaran’s Vital Sensation method formally between May 2009 and December 2011.

I am fortunate to have a full-time practice at Xerion. Our clinic allows the public to walk-in for acute consultations and offers introductory classes and seminars, giving us a unique relationship with hundreds of families. These connections with people are my raison d’être.

In October 2008 I became a faculty member of the American Medical College of Homeopathy and taught their First Aid and Acute Care six-month course to a class of 22 in Calgary. This experience deepened my interest in teaching.

A vigorous interest in further education in homeopathy in Calgary has spawned the founding of the Western College of Homeopathic Medicine of which I am Director. In June of 2009 we will offer weekly student clinic for students engaged in distance learning programs. In September 2010 we will begin a four-year course for homeopaths, including over 1000 hours of classes in Medical Science, 1800 hours of clinic, 900 hours of homeopathy and 600 hours of independent research/projects. Homeopathy has transformed my life completely. I look forward to meeting you through this dynamic system of medicine whose time has come. As for the singing, we’ll see!
